Godfather First Look: Check Out The Exciting Motion Poster Of The Chiranjeevi-Starrer

Chiranjeevi is one of the most successful actors in the film industry. His family worshipped Anjaneya, a Hindu deity, and thus came his screen name “Chiranjeevi”, meaning “immortal”. He was born in Mogalthur village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. He spent his childhood living with his grandparents as his father worked as a constable. He was an NCC cadet and also participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi during the ‘70s. He did his schooling from various schools and got his intermediate degree from C.S.R College in Ongole.

After completing his degree in Commerce from Sri Y.N. College at Narsapur, he decided to join Madras Film Institute to fulfill his desire of becoming an actor. The boy from a small village never stopped working for the dream he had and became what he wanted to be.

Start Of Becoming The “Mega Star”

He started his career with a film named Punadhirallu and his first released film was Pranam Khareedu. He got his awaited recognition from the Telugu audience after the release of Mana Voori Pandavulu directed by Bapu.

Chiranjeevi was not the protagonist in every movie. In some of the early movies of his career, such as I Love You Idi Katha Kaadu, Mosagadu, Rani Kasula Rangamm, etc., he worked as an antagonist as well.

His breakthrough with leading roles began with movies like Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya (1982) directed by Kodi Ramkrishna, which went on to be a hit at the box office.  He did a movie titled Subhale, directed by K. Viswanath, which dealt with the theme of dowry. This movie got him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor-Telugu.

Khaidi was the movie that led Chiranjeevi towards Stardom during the 1980s.

During the years between 1987-2007, he received his first Nandi Award for Best Actor for Swayamkrushi (1987) which was directed by K. Vishwanath. He also won awards like the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and Nandi Special Jury Award.

He also made appearances in Bollywood with well-appreciated films like Pratibandh (1990) and Aaj Ka Gunda Raja.

After a brief gap, Chiranjeevi came back with the movie Indra which broke all the previous box office records of Telugu films and thus led to his third Nandi Award for best actor and sixth Filmfare Award for best actor- Telugu. In total, Chiranjeevi has won 10 Filmfare awards. In 2010 he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South at the 58th Filmfare Awards South for his contribution to the Film Industry.

Cut-off From The Entertainment World

For years ranging between 2008-2016, Chiranjeevi was seen more in politics than in movies. He did only a few cameos in these years. He made his comeback by remaking a Tamil film named Kaththi in Telugu. The remake was titled Khiladi.150 and was directed by V.V. Vinayak which grossed over 164 crores in Indian Rupees in its lifetime.

The Release Of The “Godfather” Poster

The ‘Mega-Star’, as people call Chiranjeevi, is coming back with his 153rd film titled GodFather. The internet meanwhile is filled with appreciation for the poster that was unveiled as a special pre-birthday treat.

Chiranjeevi can be seen wearing an overcoat and is holding what looks like an archaic shotgun. This movie is themed as a political action drama and is an official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer. Satyadev and Nayanthara will play major roles in GodFather.
